The last puppy I bought, I just got the dog nothing else. What do you offer with the puppy?

You should be offered a towel, cloth, or bed that carries the scent of his canine family of origin, to help ease his transition from his first home into his new home. You should get a "folder" -- including a bill of sale, micro-chip information, his AKC papers health records showing the date, place, and type of inoculations that he had already received, and the recommended dates for his next round of shots. You should also get a brochure with information about the breed, perhaps some grooming information, sample of puppy food, coupons for puppy food, and a small "going-away" gift basket containing treats, a dog toy, the puppy's bed, and a grooming brush, maybe some shampoo. That’s a "personal touch" that you’re going to get when you adopt a dog from a top-notch breeder.
